Treat your customers and stay in their minds

August 20th, 2010

Everyone loves a treat once in a while, especially if it is unprovoked. Show the people that mean something to your business that you care and build up your reputation. Plus, a fantastic way of keeping in the forefront of your customer’s minds is to give them a branded gift. If the product is chosen carefully it can have a positive effect on sales revenue but also on referrals. People talk about the strange and wonderful things they receive so a quirky or controversial product will spark conversations and influence people to share your information in their social lives.

To stay focused and liven spirits the quirkier the better! If you want to develop relationships, encourage enquiries and promote your brand, your marketing should be different from the status quo and other competitors but also enough to spark communications. These types of products can be sent to customers, employees or both. The more people that receive an unconventional branded product, the more likely they will start word of mouth and communications. I know what you are thinking now…”quirky products are the expensive ones!”…well no, this is not necessarily true!!

Think outside the box around what your customers may need, want, or just desire and the products will fit into place. You could even put on your Twitter or Facebook page to ask what products people would like to see branded or given to them….within reason obviously so you do not get requests for super sport cars and holidays to Sydney!!

If you need any help with thinking of products or would just like a chat give us a ring or an email.

Do not neglect your marketing activities over the summer

August 6th, 2010

The weather is getting better, the office is getting hotter, business is getting quieter and summer holidays are just around the corner. This is the time of year when most people forget about the simple things that could help you stay busy, prompting those holidays to approach faster. Marketing plays an important role here in helping your company and brand stay in your customer’s minds.

One of the main reasons behind marketing, in particular marketing communications is to engage with your audience and provoke a response from them. During the summer months there is a general lack of responses, therefore you have to work extra hard for this engagement. To do this you need to make use of every marketing tool and technique that is useful to your own business needs. Even the smaller tasks will still make a difference, so do not neglect any aspect.

For example e-mailers and blogs are a great use of the ever increasing online media to send a message wishing everyone a lovely summer or to introduce your brand new innovative products and services (with a sales promotion attached) can influence a response. Or how about strengthening your public relations, reputation and image by organising an event from a BBQ, charity walk or full day fete? Spending time increasing your public relations will in turn pay for itself…however only if you target the correct influential people, so planning is crucial! By doing this word of mouth will do the rest.

MPM2 Settled in their new home

July 21st, 2010

We firstly would like to apologise for the delay in this blog post however with the moving of offices we hope you will forgive us. Hopefully this blog will inform you of all we have been up to in the last month.

The move went much smoother than we all anticipated with no major hiccups, which was a blessing. All of us are extremely pleased with the move and are settling in very well, including Bertie with his own comfy area. There is much more space than in the previous office so we can now display all of our lovely products and clothing which we are so very proud of. Our funky new flexible mannequins arrived last week for our clothing which adds something different and quirky to the office, as they are not your average shop window mannequin. They will be a fantastic focal point in the office, especially from the comfy relaxing sofa area.

The air conditioning has formed a war within the office. Anna and I are directly under a vent so get cold rather quickly and reach for our specially branded MPM2 hoodies, but in doing so have now been nicknamed the ice queens (but I promise we do still have warm hearts!). It has become a competition as to who can switch the air con on or off without anyone noticing. We will keep you informed as to how that goes (go team Anna and Lucy!!).

We have also got our priorities straight as we know exactly where the local bakery and chip shop is. We feel we are doing our part by contributing to Selsey’s local businesses…well that’s what we keep telling ourselves anyway.

Our sparkling new training and meeting room is looking very professional with conference calling and big television for presentations, a great space for meeting new clients and offering a good learning environment.

We now have a spacious warehouse downstairs to store our samples and deliveries. We have spent time carefully organising and labeling boxes so it will be much more efficient than in the old office.

There are still some final tweaks to be made but all in all it is a fantastic working environment with a lot of exciting opportunities ahead. With the move we have been asked for some unconventional products to brand so always remember that we work to suit your business needs. Whatever you want to brand, either to fit your campaign, image or personality we will source and put your name on. The most weirdest and wonderful products are always the ones that stay in customer’s minds so is definitely worth thinking about. Just take our latest request for branded electronic fly swatters!! If it is not on our website it doesn’t mean we cannot do it!!

Photos to follow when we have remembered where we have put the camera .

Top Five Most Cost Effective Promotional Products

May 18th, 2010

In my opinion the most cost effective promotional product would be something that for only a  limited cost would give people an item that they would keep on their desks or in their handbags, to be constantly reminded of your company and service. There are many different products which would come under this heading the following being our top 5.

  1. Magnets/window stickers.  These can be incredibly low cost and by making sure you have a design on them that people will want to display they can be used for many different events and promotions.  Not only are they low cost but are also cheap to send through the post.  You could always try adding an extra competition by offering prices or discounts if anyone is seen to be displaying one in their car.
  2. Pens.  These are still as popular today as they have always been, by keeping the design simple and one colour these can be a very cheap item to produce.  The best thing about them is that they are useful and so are kept.  If you looked on your desk now or in your handbag or briefcase, you would find at least one pen with a promotional message from someone.
  3. Keyrings.  These can work really well once again if the design is something that people will want to keep or if they have information on them that people would need to remember.  For instance a  phone number for a car recovery service or their local garage.
  4. Mugs.  How many cups of tea or coffee do we drink in the office in a day?  If yours is anything like ours the answer can be up to 10.  That means not only people in the office but visitors also will be seeing your message.
  5. Calendars.  Although this item requires a slightly larger budget than the other items in my top five, it will be hung in an office, shop or home for all 365 days of the year. Plus it will be looked at more than once every day,  therefore it could actually be the most cost effective.

We have stairs

April 26th, 2010

We are now on to week 8 of our build and we have stairs, no more up and down ladders to look at the progress, fantastic.

We are now getting so close to being able to start moving into our new home. New this week are the fantastic blue stairs we have waited a while for them but what a difference they make.

Also in this week is our nice shower room, for those mornings when we feel like being more healthy and cycling into the office.  I don’t expect these to be too often knowing the mpm2 team, as most of you out there who know us will realise we are more likely to go out for ice cream then a bike ride, but who knows.

Even the walls are nearly painted so it looks like that trip to ikea will be coming soon, all i can say is Martin beware three ladies, one trip to ikea, and your credit card.  But think of what a stylish new office you will have at the end of it all, can’t wait.
